Under the leadership of the Chief Minister of Punjab, a historic initiative has been launched to support rural women in South Punjab through the Livestock and Dairy Development Department.
As part of this program, 11,000 widowed and divorced women from the underprivileged areas of South Punjab will receive livestock animals (cows or buffaloes) worth Rs. 200,000 each to help them become financially independent.
Phase 1 Achievements
In the first phase, 4,870 animals (cows and buffaloes) have already been successfully distributed to eligible women after health certification by the Livestock Department.
Phase 2 Applications Now Open
Applications for the second phase are now being accepted in 12 districts, including:
- Dera Ghazi Khan
- Muzaffargarh
- Rajanpur
- Layyah
- Bahawalpur
- Bahawalnagar
- Lodhran
- Vehari
- Khanewal
- Pakpattan
- Okara
- Bhakkar

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a widow or divorced woman.
- Resident of South Punjab.
- Must have suitable space for keeping livestock.
- Age between 32 and 55 years.
- Preference will be given to deserving families living in rural areas.
How to Apply
Interested women can apply through:
- Nearest Livestock Office in their district, or
- Online submission via the official Punjab Livestock & Dairy Development website.
